The Dove Program Overview

The Dove Program is located at the Bedford, New Hampshire office of the Center for Eating Disorders Management. This intensive day and evening treatment program provides state of the art care to those patients whose eating disorder has led to more serious problems, or whose psychological and/or behavioral functioning is significantly impaired. This program is not appropriate for those patients who are suicidal, or who are medically unstable.

The Dove Program is a transitional program, which provides added structure and supervision not available to eating disordered patients in usual outpatient settings. It also helps smooth the transition from inpatient settings to home and community.

Dove Day and Evening Treatment Program services include:

• Evaluation of medical status and treatment of medical complications of eating disorders. This includes referral to an inpatient facility, if medically necessary.
• Nutritional assessment, counseling and therapy.
• Psychological assessment and treatment, including individual, family, couple, and group therapy.
• Spiritual Growth and development.
• Pharmacological treatment as appropriate
• Age-appropriate protocols individualized to meet each patient's needs

Age appropriate treatment tracks are utilized for Adults, Adolescents and Children. By using materials and approaches that are developmentally appropriate for cognitive, emotional, and intellectual functioning, adults, adolescents and children each receive the right balance of structure and support. Eating disorder protocols are specifically designed for each age group. In individual and family sessions, issues to be faced following discharge are carefully addressed.
